Writer/DIRECTOr STATEMENT

This film was written to be shot in London, it’s an anti-gentrification tale. I wanted to explore our throwaway culture and question the aesthetic and obsession with home improvements. The couple in this film needed to work on their relationship, not their home. I wanted to show that when places, houses, and areas of the city get gentrified they often lose their heart and soul. This is what happens to Ben’s world, his comfy, cluttered life gets so tidied up, it becomes smart but clinical. It has the life sucked out of it and in the process, he does too.
