Annabel is an award-winning writer, director and editor with a commissioned feature film in late-stage development, a range of spec scripts for both film and TV, and seven produced short films.
Most recently, she directed the BBC-funded TRUE LOVE & WORMHOLES, starring Corey Mylchreest and Anjana Vasan, as part of the BBC Writers Long Story Short initiative.
Her short films have screened at hundreds of international film festivals, including multiple BAFTA and Academy Award-qualifying ones. They have won over 30 awards.
Annabel was commissioned to rework the feature documentary MYSTERY OF THE MISSING. The new version, titled FLIGHT OF THE SWANS, was narrated by Sophie Okonedo and includes newly recorded interviews. The re-version premiered at the International Wildlife Film Festival and won four awards during its festival run.
Her small production company produces impactful online environmental and social change content for the likes of The Wildlife Trusts, UKRI and Glastonbury Festival, to name a few.
Her book Psychosis Diaries, about a young man dealing with the mental health breakdown of his brother, was shortlisted for the Mslexia YA Fiction Award.
As a writer/director who began life as an editor, she writes with the cut in mind and directs with a sharp eye for pace and emotional resonance.
She is a BAFTA Connect, BFI Network and DDPTV member, a full WGGB member, and was selected for the Directors UK Mentorship Programme in 2019.
She is a freelance script reader for the BFI and a core member of Cinesisters, who campaign for the increased visibility of women directors.
